Back to Normal....Mostly
My big boy, Brandon.
Jack, on the move, headed to check out the toy Brandon has at the moment.
Jack, wearing Brandon's Wall-e underwear on his head. I was trying to get B to laugh cause he didn't want to wear them.
This is the face of a boy that doesn't feel well. How could I not be worried about him?!Jason got home early Saturday afternoon, just in time for Jack to be sick. My poor baby hadn't slept well the night before (neither did Mommy) and was just cranky--not my Jack at all. By the afternoon he seemed to be getting worse, so I took him to Goodnight Pediatrics. So help me, if I ever say I'm going to take him there again, slap me! I figured one of two things would happen: 1-they would say that there was nothing I could do for him, or, 2-they'd send us to the hosptial again for more tests. Well, a lot of my reason for even going was because I'd been sick earlier in the week and I hadn't had a fever but my throat was killing me and my doctor had put me on antibiotics cause not even an OTC pain reliever would help, not even a little. So, my reasoning is maybe the Tylenol I'm giving him isn't helping him either, and I couldn't bear to think something more could be done for him and I was making him suffer. Well, we were the only people there so we were in and out fast, that is the only nice thing to say about it. The doctor was sooo freaking rude! She walked in and didn't even introduce herself, which I don't think I've ever had a doctor not do. I explained to her, basically what I wrote above, or tried to at least. She kept cutting me off and basically told me I was stupid and my doctor was stupid for giving me anitbiotics cause people are getting them so easily and we are becoming resistant to them. Anyway, I paid $130 (no, they don't take BCBS, which I knew going in) for her to tell me I'm a moron and to keep giving him Tylenol and Motrin. So, if anyone knows of another after hours pedi, please let me know. He weighed over 18lbs, which is just about average for his age, but we think is huge, lol. I was glad to see he'd gained some weight cause he hasn't been wanting to eat at all this week. He seems to be feeling better today but still has lots of green snot, yuck!
Ok, this is a little off topic...but seriously, Rick Springfield. He's on GMA right now, and he's been back on GH a little recently. Hon, I love you and Jesse's Girl, but cut your hair AND shave!!! You are waaaay too old to go for that look.

Finally Friday
Jason will be home in about 14 hours. Whoop! It's been a long week!
I got a pedicure today. It was nice to do something for myself. I got to bring the kids with me (it was at Allison's house) and Brandon watched some of it. The rest of the day he kept telling me that I had a hurt toe. He was super confused. I think he thought that I was at the doctor or something. We went to visit Grammy afterwards, Carla and Izzie were there. Miss Izzie was so cute and actually reached out to me! I was really excited. She is such a mama's girl that I take it as a huge compliment that she would want me for even a minute! In the evening we went to HEB, yes, super fun. Brandon loves looking at the lobster tank. When he says lobster it kinda sounds like "monster", I actually thought he was saying "sea monster" instead of "see lobster" for awhile. When we walked away from the fish counter he said "bye" and waved to all the lobsters, crabs and whole fish. The guy working there got a big smile from that.
Jack was pretty miserable all day long. These teeth are not gonna be easy to cut. He hardly ate all day and was super clingy. Bath time seemed to make him happy, if even for a little while. I gave him so Motrin and put him to bed early. One cute thing he learned to do was wave! He waved at my mom, Allison, me and Sophie today. I noticed he did it the other day and wasn't sure that that was what he was doing, but I really think he knew what he was doing. I'll have to get that one on video before he gets too good at it, lol.

Thursday
Thanks to all the bad weather we stayed in today. We all have cabin fever now. I don't care if it's snowing tomorrow, we are getting out of the house. Brandon did pretty good with his potty training today. He actually peed and POOPED on the potty this evening, he was quite proud of himself. This morning we were sitting on my bed and he told me he needed to sit on the potty (he was wearing big underwear) and I picked him up to take him to the bathroom and saw he'd already peed on my bed. It was on Jason's side, don't tell him ;) I still put him on the toilet and he went some more but after that I switched him to a pull-up. He watched a lot of movies today while mommy caught up on washing her sheets and mattress pad. At one point Brandon found a one dollar bill. "Is this a dollar, Mommy?" How the heck he even knows, I'll never understand. then he starts singing, to the tune of Blue's Clues "We just got a letter", his version: "We just got a dollar. We just got a dollar. We just got a dollar. Wonder who it's from?" He is too much sometimes.
Jack is about to become the proud owner to two more teeth (bringing his total to five). He's got a top one and a bottom one just under the gums. I think the bottom one will cut first though. It'll be funny if he has 3 bottom teeth and one on top! He's a crawling madman right now. He's trying to get on his hands and knees but still prefers the army crawl. I put him in the living room and turned around and he was at the back door! He has also discovered the door stopper. Tons of fun! He woke up a bunch of times last night and at one point I just tried to get away with rubbing his back. The only problem with that is that once you stop rubbing his back he starts stirring again. I didn't want to go all the way back to my room just to come back and comfort him again, so I decided to quietly sit in his rocking chair. Do you know that that little stinker found me! He popped his head up and looked around his room and then turned his head in my direction and gave me the freaking cutest smile in the world. Of course I had to pick him up then and I just brought him to bed with me at that point. I don't really do that that often but he was sooo happy to be with me. I freaking love my kids!!!
Jason will be home in a day and a half. If I wasn't so freaking tired I'd actually count the hours. Miss you babe!

The Latest
Look at how big Jack is getting compared to Brandon! Jack kept grabbing Brandon's legos and B was not too happy about it!
The boys in Jack's crib this afternoon. Jack was attacking Brandon for his cup of chocolate milk, he's a fighter! Brandon asked to get out shortly after this was taken, lol.
Brandon's potty chart. Soooo many stickers! I should have made it nicer but it works!Jason asked for a blog update. I think he's really just making fun of me, but here goes.
Yesterday my mom came with me and the kids for a drive down to work so I could get some stuff. We came home and I worked on everything off and on all day. Brandon peed on the potty 10 times yesterday! He got two toys for his efforts. He wouldn't go first thing in the morning, had a poop accident in his underwear in the afternoon and once told me that he had to go and literally peed (in his diaper, I was holding him on my hip, that's how I know) the second we walked in the bathroom. Otherwise it was a good potty training day. No one told me it would be so exhausting.
I'm waiting for my mom to get here now so I can run to work and finish my stuff. Later tonight I'll be going to their house with the kids for dinner. I'm hoping the rest of the week is smooth sailing since I'll be done with my work stuff for the week. Oh, what I would give for a two hour, uninterrupted, nap right now!
***
I saved that before...here's another update.
Brandon did great with the potty today. Aside from bedtime and naptime he didn't have a single "accident". I can't even count how many times he went today. At least 10, probably more. I'm having to make it harder to get his rewards cause he's too good right now. I'm not sure when he'll be ready for underwear during sleeptime. We had dinner with my parents, it was really nice. The boys love my parents so much and had fun cause they were spoiled as usual.
Sad News...

Day Two
I woke up feeling horrible, still. Called my mommy to come watch the boys while I ran up to the "doc in the box". He gave me two shots and $60 in meds, thankfully they seem to be working. Brandon had a blast with Grammy, he loves her so freaking much. Mommy let me take a tiny nap before she left. When I came downstairs they were on the couch eating chips. She gave him candy before she left. Mom had said that B freaked out over a bug in Jack's room (sounds like we need the exterminator). I asked him about it and he said, "I scream like that. I scared of bugs. I scared of the gog (dog) in the window." He cracks me up. Sometimes the neighbor's dog scares him when it barks. Sometimes at night I can hear him on the baby monitor saying, "Be quiet, goggy.
Jack didn't really want his bottles at all today. I'm wondering if he's feeling bad, too. I don't have a fever and neither does he, so it's hard to tell. He's acting pretty normal otherwise. He ate lots of baby food again today.
I gave the boys a bath together. In the tub Brandon told me to check on Carla. Ironically she called like 5 minutes later. I told him to tell her about the scary bug and he told her that there was a bug on mommy's face...great. I had some "sleep" in my eye or something and he thought it was a bug. Brandon peed in the potty like 3 times today. I didn't really feel like messing with it too much today, I know that sounds horrible. I opened the last package of diapers for him today. I told him after that it was pullups and underwear. All his underwear are so big on his tiny butt, it's really cute. I really think that Jack's arms and legs are as big around as Brandon's, though no at long, of course. Really it seems like Brandon just is taller at this point accounting for the few extra pounds he weighs.
Jason is taking a really intense training course. The class is 10 hours a day. He said they are squeezing 8 days of material into just 5 days. So, we can't really talk during the day, just text a little. I hate talking to him so little in the day, especially when I feel bad. I'm not sleeping well without him, hence the 3am post. Jack got up about 1 hour ago for a bottle and I'm having trouble falling asleep. Better try again to sleep, got lots of work to do tomorrow. Love you, babe.
